Wanting to cut his teeth against a classic old time serial killer, Columbo travels back to England in 1888. However, the time travel scrambles his memory, so he doesn't retain any knowledge of Jack or the murders. He does retain his detective skills, and works his way onto the police force to investigate the case. The guy carried out his murders over the course of 3 years and not only was he never caught but he actually had the gaul to write letters to the police taunting them for being unable to stop him!
