Hmmm, tough one - two food based competitors selling a game. 

Well, I can see Jolly Green GIant working for 1 main reason - he fits perfectly with the concept of a game character. Think of the marketing back in 1995, it was all about the characters: and a Giant is your next big thing.

Think Sonic, Mario, Ryu, Scorpion and co. were big? Well you haven't seen anything yet; prepare for a game where you are a literal giant! Save humanity from evil monsters in arcade mode (and don't forget to power up with all those green vegetables!); fight a roster of other mythical beings in the combat mode and more.
