Match 19184 Muzan Kibutsuji vs. The Briarwoods

Recommended Posts

Muzan Kibutsuji vs The Briarwoods

The large group of drunk and excited drunkards cheered as they watched the gnome bard and blonde Demon Slayer Duke it out in the middle of the pub. Several even putting money on which one they think will win.

“Go Scanlan, you got this!” Pike Trickfoot cheered on her friend.

“Yeah! Fuck him up for Vox Machina Scanman!” Grog shouted his own encouragement.

“Don’t even think about losing Monitsu! As a minion of Lord Inosuke King of the Mountains I demand that you destroy Dox Capachia’s puny little mascot!” Inosuke yelled out support to Zenitsu in his own way.

“MMHMMM! Mmmm! Mmm! MMMM!” Nezuko shouted enthusiastically.

“Oi Tanjiro! You wanna get in on this action? Come on, show your pal you believe in him!” Vax encouraged Tanjiro who seemed to be lost in thought.

“Don’t worry, it’s all in good fun. We’ll stop ‘em if it gets too far outta line,” Vex assured the red haired Slayer.

“Huh? Oh I apologize but I wasn’t really paying attention,” Tanjiro nodded his head in apology before drowning in thought again. “I know I should be glad we all got out of this mess reasonably well off, but something about this whole scenario still seems off: how in the world did Gyutaro and Daki come back to life? How did Muzan know about you guys, let alone make a plan to trick you into attacking us and then sending the Demon Siblings to mop us up?”

“Well I can’t say I know dicks about how demons work in your lands, but I assumed your Muzan heard of us via Scanlan singing of our tales during his bar songs,” Vax explained his theory.

“Brother’s right Darling, by all accounts that piss headed bastard could have just been passing through, heard us bragging about our skills and figured he could trick us into going after your group,” Vex surmised.

“It just doesn’t sound like Muzan to rely on the boasting of drunken foreigners. No offense meant of course! And the fact he didn’t try to turn you into demons before sending you after us means he must have heard of your skills from a very reliable source,” Tanjiro pondered, pursing his lips in thought. “I hate to ask this but by any chance would you know of anyone who might have a grudge against Vox Machina? Someone who could have also helped resurrect the Demon Siblings?”

“Well kiddo let’s just say our merry band has definitely made a fuck load of enemies over the years. But I can’t think of anyone with the clout to reason with a Japanese Demon,” Vex admitted.

“I can. And bringing the dead back to life would most assuredly be within their wheel house,” Vax spoke with uncharacteristically seriousness.

“You’re not talking about… Brother that’s just not possible! They’re dead! We made sure of it ourselves!” Vex

“They’re fucking vampires Stubby. Would you honestly be surprised that they found another way to come back to life? Or unlife as it were?” Vax rhetorically asked.

“What do you mean? Who are you talking about?” Tanjiro asked.

“The Briarwoods,” the half elven twins said with much disgust.

“Speak quickly Briarwoods, and pray that I am in the mood to forgive your utter incompetence,” the cold, monotone voice of Muzan Kibutsuji spoke.

“Hear that husband? Poor Muzan doesn’t seem to understand that it is he who has disappointed us,” Delilah Briarwood sneered in pompous arrogance.

The Demon King had agreed to meet the necromancer and vampire couple at a neutral sight; a deserted, grassy field surrounded by woodlands, in the dead of night. And so far that was the closest thing to an agreement the two sides had been able to come to.

“Then allow me to enlighten the worm to his pathetic ineptitude my love,” Sylas warmly spoke to his wife before turning to Muzan with a sinister grin. “We upheld our end of the bargain demon, we resurrected your fallen followers and even manipulated Vox Machina to travel to your backwater country to weaken your enemy for you. And yet even with all our help all you accomplished was getting your acolytes killed yet again. And they call you the ‘Demon King?’ How laughable.”

“Help? You send a group of drunken buffoons to my lands and call that help?” Muzan’s voice remained monotone even as his red eyes blazed with anger. “I sent those weak vermin after minor Demon Slayers figuring that they could at least kill half of them, and yet they proved too feeble to even do that. Tell me, are all the warriors of your land so incredibly weak, or are the Briarwoods too cowardly to make an enemy of the actual strong ones?”

Sylas let out a beastly growl and looked ready to rush the demon progenitor before Delilah stopped him with a hand on his shoulder.

“Make all the excuses you want Muzan dear, the fact is that you failed our little experiment and I fear The Whispered One will be most displeased with you,” Delilah smirked as she saw Muzan’s usually stoic expression briefly look confused at the unfamiliar name. “See our master has had his eyes on your lands for a long time now Demon King, he had thought you could be a most valuable disciple of his, but with this failure I fear you might have lost whatever hope you had at having a place at his side once he returns.”

“Foolish little girl, you dare to presume that I would willingly serve anyone?” Muzan’s anger was finally starting to show as his patience had finally reached his limit. “There is no one above me, and this little game is at an end. Akaza kill them!”

In a flash the Upper Rank Three demon had appeared and rushed full speed towards the unholy couple.

“Foolish humans! You dared to delude yourselves into thinking you were a demons equal? You’ll die for your arrogance!” Akaza boasted as he neared his targets.

“You’re already dead fool!” Sylas roared as he intercepted Akaza and engaged in a bloody brawl.

“What’s the matter Muzan dear? Are you not man enough to fight for yourself?” Delilah haughtily asked.

“You are utterly beneath me Briarwood. I will see to it you suffer greatly before dying,” Muzan practically snarled.

Well I’ve had a blast writing the Demon Slayer vs Vox Machina arc but this should be the end of it, call this the arcs epilogue. Thanks for reading, hopefully I’ll move on to even better matches in the near future.

Anyways so it’s basically Muzan and Akaza vs Delilah and Sylas Briarwood in an open field in the dead of night. Who takes this?
