Gah, I hate elaborating! Why don't people just take my word for everything?

 

Well, anyway, the two polls ask:

 

A.) Who is more brilliant in their plots and B.) Who has caused more lasting damage in their universe.

 

Well, Thanos obviously takes A, because the only person who ever foils his plans is himself, meaning they are so brilliant they cannot fail without his intervention.

 

And he obviously takes B, because guys like Doom, Luthor, Joker, they think too small to do lasting damage. Darkseid, maybe, if he actually got out more and started doing things. Thanos, meanwhile, has achieved omnipotence four times, killing how many people every time.

He took control of the infinity Gaunlet. Recreated and destroyed the universe with the Hotu. Beat The living tribunal and Eternity with it. Got hold of the Hotu by tricking some guy.

 

Tricked Warrior madness Thor and got hold of the power gem.

 

Took on Tyrant. Outsmarted Thor,Mephisto,Drax,Adam warlock,etc.

 

Mad ma.... mad LOL.... Mad Silver Surfer belive he was dead.

 

Death made him immortal.

 

He has control of many armies.

 

Tried to mind *insensitivity* Galactus.

Im just saying that he doesnt leave much of an impact on the entirety of the Marvel story lines. He doesnt effect that much in the grand scheme of things. He is a terribly evil guy but he just doesnt leave a lasting impression on the marvel universe itself. He doesnt change the way people go about things in there universe. They pitted heroes against heroes and rocked the main continuity of Marvel.

Out of all these villains, Thanos is the only one that Eternity has had reason to fear. Eternity is the Marvel Universe, therefore Thanos has had the most lasting impression on his Universe.

I still have to say Civil War caused by the skrulls was a more definning moment. It made characters like Iron Man, and spiderman question if what they were doing was truly the right thing. In the end Captain America died shocking the entire Marvel U. MORE OF AN IMPACT

magneto took over the world and started the event that killed more then 90% of all muntants.

in a diffrent story line he killed wolverine and professor x shut of his mind and it led up to onslaught.

and lets not forget it was him that truly started the age of apocalypse.
