It isn't in my nature to be a dick for no reason, but when y'all keep saying stupid stuff over and over and over, well, there's only so much a man can handle.

Thanos didn't have any impact, hell his series might as well be non-canon.

You've never actually read a Marvel comic written before 2008, have you?

Thanos hasn't been mentioned in Marvel for years.

Well, you missed Annihilation, clearly. And Marvel Zombies. Oh, also he just appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy #24, so Thanos is being mentioned in Marvel comics in March 2010. Also the upcoming Marvel cosmic event is called The Thanos Imperative.

I can't remember the last time anyone even mentioned his name in the Marvel Universe.

Really? Because Dan Abnett can't shut up about him.

Anything Thanos did was ignored by Marvel so that just shows you there thoughts on Thanos.

Marvel is basing it's next major event around Thanos, (and throwing Magus in the mix, a character specifically created by Jim Starlin to battle Thanos.) So THAT shows you their (with an "i") thoughts on Thanos.

As for the original questions, I'll put Lex up against any schemer. Thanos has undoubtedly done the most lasting damage to his respective Universe of anyone on the list.

If we're really being honest with ourselves, The Green Goblin had the most lasting effect on comics. He single handedly killed the entire Silver Age.

Ozymandias is a one-trick pony. He spent years crafting a single plan. These other guys play no limit Hold 'Em to fill the dull moments during speed-chess.

Yes, but he had to do it in the face of an Omnipotent and Omniscient Being... Give some credit to the man for that at least.

Manhattan is neither omnipotent nor omniscient.

And Thanos and Darkseid pull crap right under the nose of their respective Gods.

I completely agree with this, and I voted accordingly...although I will put Darkseid in a very close second to Thanos in the lasting damage department.

For brilliant plots, I'm not sure. For lasting impact on their universe, here's a write-in candidate:

Read the topic. It says who is more brilliant in their "plots." Scarlett Witch did not plot to do all the House of M stuff. It was all Pietro's fault.

He should be on the list.

I did read the topic and it's two questions...I was just answering the second one.
