Samurai vs Knight

On the last battle of the DW tournament the Gladiator had fallen prey to the mighty Viking.

 

How it happened:

 

The Viking was walking along the Forest on a Bright and sunny day but quickly armed himself with his Cestus when he heard the battle cry of the Viking.

 

The Spear of the Viking then came flying at the Gladiator who barley managed to get out of the way in time. He then saw the Viking approach him and take out his long sword. He responded with a mighty growl and took out his Sica and charged.

 

Their blades met and they were trapped in a clash of weapons. Only for the Viking to elbow the Glad right in the throat which made him fall back and catch his breath.

 

The Viking took no time taking out his Battle Axe and was about to bring it down on the Glad's head only to get the Net thrown over him. But just like the Katina in the show the Trident failed to pierce his Chain mail. Vike then rammed into the Glad making them both fall to the ground making the Net fall of the Viking. The Glad then saw his Sling nearby and crawled to get it only to stop suddenly. The cause, was the Viking's shield coming right down on his neck.

 

Now the next fight shall have the Knight fight the Samurai in a Western Saloon.

Knight's Weapons:

 

Longsword

 

Morning star

 

Crossbow

 

Halberd

 

 

Samurai's Weapons:

Kantana

Kanabo

Yumi

Naginta

The problem here is that the Samurais weapons were designed to defeat lesser armoured foes. The were all razor sharp and light enough to swing easily, but faced with Plate Mail, they wouldn't do that much damage.

 

I say Knight wins.

Weapons that wouldn't be able to even touch the Knight in his Steel Plate Mail.

 

Meanwhile the Knight with his heavier weapons (That are just as lethal as a Samurais) would be able to break the lighter Samurai Armour relatively easier.

as for the samurai armor it is steel and is actually incredibly strong and gives the samurai extra mobility that the Knight does not have

The Samuari also knew Judo, they could get in on the Knight and throw them on the ground and then finish them off.

The Samurai also were the best archers. They could sink ships, so any opening the Knight has will be hit. Still a very close and epic fight though.

Well remember the Viking? Tried to hit his eyes, and ended up only hitting his helmet, here the Knight has much better protection than the Viking.

Yes, but he would still have to get through the Morning Star, his Sword, His X-Bow (That would kill easier than the Samurais Yumi) and his Halberd.

 

Granted the Samurais weapons are far more deadlier, they were designed against Light to medium armour. The Knight wins because he is in heavy armour with Weapons designed to take out medium to heavy armour

Okay, in that link that David kindly provided us, we watched an old man stab into an armor and managed to actually punch through it. Imagine a Samurai that is trained to use this weapon and is in much better physical shape than that guy is. He can definitely punch holes through a knight should they ever get close and they're a lot faster than a Knight, the Samurai will overwhelm the Knight and kill him.

Besides, That old guy is an Ex U.S. Marine Corps drill instructor, and being in the modern age has access to better facilities to keep him both in shape and physically strong. He is probably stronger and more fit than the Samurai or Knights of their age.

We're a former shell of our ancestors almost no amount of training can replace years of living as rough as they had it. and at 66 years old i doubt Gunny can be more fit than either a Samurai or Knight at they're prime no matter how much exercise he does

The Halberd is a wooden shaft with an axe shaped metal blade and a spear point at the end of it.

 

 

Basically, all the Samurai has to do is wait for the Knight to swing it down, and being weighted down in armor and a heavy weapon, the knight will be slow and when he swings it, it will take time for him to recover a bit and the Samurai can just chop the Halberd in half.

 

Also, for Arrows, Samurais can do this:

 

 

He can block it or cut it in half.

 

Also:

 

Considering Samurais train to use their Katanas, a really well trained Samurai can be accurate with their Katana, And for this guy to actually slice an airsoft bullet, which is still pretty damn fast, an Ancient Samurai could do the same with an arrow shot from a crossbow.

 

And the slicing through iron feat is actually pretty nice, even though Steel is superior.

 

And this should confirm the durability of a Katana to be able to take a hit from the Mace.

Dude, Steel is harder than Bronze, Bronze is softer and weaker than Steel. If a Katana can cut through a steel plate armor, which is the same as the Knight's and stab a steel chair, it should be able to kick the crap out of Bronze relatively easily. But it didn't as its biased....

Living rough is one thing, but having access to proper medicines, extremely rough Training, proper training techniques, proper food, ect. etc. etc. and No We as Humans are Stronger than our ancestors ever could be. If you took a Marine today and put him in the Medieval era, he could probably whoop a knight or Samurai in H2H.

You assume that that's how you wield a Halberd, I've seen Kinghts Training manuals on how to use one, Nowhere in them does it say Swing Down at your opponent in an uncontrolled manner. If they do swing down they do so, so that they can Easily bring it back up in a moments notice.

Yet X-Bow bolts travel far faster than an Arrow and are much shorter. As well, it isn't in a controlled setting where he can anticipate his opponent.

Well, for the First one, that vid shows Iron against a hard backing. The Knight is encased in Steel and knows how to roll with attacks in order to reduce damage.

 

As for the cutting of an Airsoft bullet, not sure how fast it could push a Lead ball, but for the much lighter softer plastic rounds it can reach max speeds of only 200m/s, this however for the Bullet would be Significantly slower as Solid Lead tends to be much heavier than Plastic covered paint...

 

As for the Mace hit... well yes it could survive, just as a long sword could. But, it would probably come away chipped if it were to hit edge on edge with the long sword.
