For those who want to create characters when available

As you know, the create-a-character option in this website is down for now. Many of us (including me, who never had the chance to use it) have a huge list of characters that he or she want to create when the create character option is running again. Then something hit me: if everyone creates characters all at once, we could have the possibility of having multiple characters at once. This is why I decided to create this forum. I came up with an idea: if everyone who wants to create characters create a list of characters they want to create, then we will know which character can be created without having problems. So, I'll start us off:

It may scare them away, but how long has it been since the last time characters could be added? There will always be something new and cool that could be added, and I think the admins know what they will expect when/or if it ever comes back.

 

Not to mention peoples' list of characters may shortened by the time it comes back. I mean even today I have decided to take maybe 23 characters off the list I had.

You know, I understand where everyone's coming from with the 'admins might not reopen the service' thing. It makes sense. And as much as I'd like to rationalize this topic, I have to agree. Personally, I wouldn't mind approving characters (not a plea for admin status, I don't want that responsibility), but I wouldn't have time for it. It's an honest to goodness shame we can't hire somebody to approve characters and such...but then that would mean we would probably have to pay to use the site or something...

I can understand why you have trouble approving characters. Maybe you could promote a certain high ranking few ie: Skirmisher, Jaeger Panzer, Stranglehold-Prime (the most commited CBUBers) to a level of administrator like Character Aprover. They would have certain privilages (like more points to create battles) and gain a higher level of respect. This would streamline the work and any debateable characters could be sent to the higher ups for approval or denial. If this idea goes through, and one of you see Denny Crane on the character nomination list, just remember who brought up this idea.
