Indolent
Listen, your numbers and arguments are one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in any of your rambling, incoherent responses were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread, is now dumber for having read your... material. I concede to none of your points, and may god have mercy on your soul...DERP! <.> Anyways, seriously, another pissing match, Ricrery?

That's because YOU have no understanding of physics AT ALL. You clearly love to WANK Halo, but guess what? Now that I've shown your wank is full of crap. Master Chief stands no chance against a normal Stormtrooper, let alone Darth Vader. In both scenarios, his weapons (7.62 NATO rounds, because Halo is less advanced than modern day Earth in most areas) would bounce right off their armor. How can he POSSIBLY win? Guest ricrery
He's using an energy sword plus, he has Spartan Time, against Vader. -.- Oh *vulgarity*ing no. It changes... ABSOLUTELY nothing. Vader would butt*vulgarity* him like a simple Stormtrooper would.

Because I KNOW it cannot be the instance where Cortana helps the Chief on that one test where he has to fight several ODSTs and more.

Guest ricrery
The Covenant and UNSC use weapons equal to (or in some cases, worse) what we use right now. Oh, and the Elites in Reach were jumping everywhere.

Guest force_echo
John117 was beating up ODSTs when he was 14? Anakin Skywalker blew up a freaking TRADE FEDERATION SHIP at like the age of ten. John can suck it, and you do not need a mag casing for a blaster bolt, ever hear of an electron microscopes? The average plasma rifle bolt is equivalent to about 2 7.62 NATO rounds.

Ending spoiler obviously, don't click if... well you don't want the ending spoiled. At 5:25. Like I said, lightning fast Elites. BTW, that's a pretty awesome calc scene right there, with the first Elite in white. He takes less than a full clip (half a clip?) before going down, and the other Elite takes 2 shots from a gun to take him down.

He probably did a headshot or two after taking out the shielding with his elbow on the second one with the pistol. -.- And he only shot the body for the first one compared to the head. I'm assuming he shot for the head on the third and fourth.
Guest Ruinus
Oh wait, you are right. The Elite does take a burst of rifle fire before 6 takes him out with the pistol, my bad. Still, they are all being brought down by less than 1 clip from the rifle (plus a few rounds of pistol).
Guest ricrery
Yeah, so 112 kilojoules can defeat an Ultra Elite's shields, puncture its armor, and kill it.
Indolent
Mh. I'd like to see how the math's done, where you get your info, etc. etc. EDIT: on the weaponry, etc...
Guest ricrery
Mh. I'd like to see how the math's done, where you get your info, etc. etc. 7.62x51 NATO round = 9.7 gram 0.0097 x 850 x 850 / 2 x 32 (rounds the MA37 has) = 112 kilojoules. As I showed before. From the looks of it, a cylinder 15 cm in length and 5 in diameter isn't pushing it. To vaporize a kilogram of water quickly, you need 2.57 megajoules pumped into it. The density of water is 1 g/cm^3, thus the energy required to vaporize all that water, we would need 756 kJ in that tiny spot. That's not mentioning the skin (minor changes in energy) and armor (possibly significant changes in energy) though. This is over 100 times stronger than the strongest bolt from a Covenant plasma rifle. A single bolt is going to kill an Elite, Spartan, shielded Jackal, etc. in one hit. Guest Ruinus
MA37 ICWS uses 7.62x51mm NATO rounds. There is no muzzle velocity given for the MA37, but the MA5C ICWS has a muzzle velocity of 905 m/s. The rounds themselves weigh 9.7 g so: KE=.5(mv2) m=.01 kgv=905 ms/ KE= 3.97 kj. The modern day NATOs have 3.5 kj, so the MA5C is slightly better than modern weaponry. Noble 6 fired on 3 Elites and took out their shields and killed them, so if we assume it was a full 32 round clip, and each Elite got exactly a third of that, they each got 10 rounds. So 39.7 kj. I dunno where ricrery got 112 kj from, so you could ask him. EDIT: Oh, he's saying that the entire clip is 112 kj, which it is. But less than a full clip was used on each of those Elites. Guest Ruinus
What are the calcs for Covenant weapons? For Plasma rifles using Ohm's Law I get between 20 kj and 45 kj from the whole [email protected] and [email protected] But then dividing by 100 shots, I get 200-400 j per shot, which seems odd. I gave a link about one page ago. My math is: 30,000 - 45,000 x 60 / 360 - 540 = 3.33 - 7.5 kJ per Covenant rifle plasma bolt. This makes sense, seeing as how their opposition uses weapons of similar firepower. Link. Rate of fire: 360~540 shots/min I didn't use the 2 dA one though. Guest Ruinus
Why is it being multiplied by 60?
Guest ricrery
Why is it being multiplied by 60? That's the time frame. 20-45,000 J multiplied by the time frame divided by the amount of shots fired in that time frame. The numbers also make a lot of sense.
