Guest callisto
Excelsior true believers, in keepings with the grand scope of the CBUB, I introduce to you an epic tale. Beyond the concepts of space and time and outside the reasoning of mortal minds, there is a nexus of all things. Within this singularity, only the most preeminent and able beings of existences could even begin to be extant. For it is not a realm of just matter or nothingness; adversely it is a realm of entirety. It is from the nexus that all things spring forth and the multiverse began. It is here that our story begins.Important to this tale, is the phenomenon of seven. On Earth there are Seven Wonders of the World, in Christianity; seven holy sins and seven holy virtues, as well there are seven last words of Jesus Christ, seven stellar objects visible to the naked eye from Earth, in Japanese myth there are seven lucky gods…and the list goes on throughout the multiverse. In the telling of our story, we shall focus on seven, foremost celestial branches of the multiverse.Throughout infinity and once in the span of a million lifetimes comes a combination of deities with one thought on their collective minds: Competition. For every eon, these beings have met to test the strength, evolution, fortitude and wit of lesser life in their worlds. Each representative seeks victory for their own personal reasons; whether it is hate, growth, love or power. Of these 7 universes, this gathering of hosts has come forth: Raiden of the Japanese god pantheon from Mortal Kombat: Seeking to test the might of his world’s greatest legends to prepare them for greater challenges to come. The Greek Gods of antiquity: who are always willing to mettle in the affairs of their population for sport. The Guardians of the Universe of the DC realm: who in turn seek to test the might of potentially hazardous surrounding universes, record data and defeat the plans of Darkseid of the DC universe: who seeks to end all free will in any world and usurp control. Q of the Q Continuum of Star Trek: who enjoys a little sport, while clandestinely preparing mortal minds for their own evolution, the mysterious and deadly Reapers: who seek to impose order on the chaos of organic evolution, the living Force of the Star Wars: which seeks to flow throughout all, the Forerunners of the Halo realm: who seek to increase the influence of peace throughout the multiverse, the enigmatic G-Man: whose motives are unknown, but to himself, the Ellimist: the consummate gamer who only seeks competition with his longtime friend and the host of these fantastic events, the Grandmaster of Marvel Universe. Be glad reader, for a great story commences: a story that will embody all that the CBUB stands for, a story that will span a thousand worlds and a story that is not mine to tell. For it is a chosen League of Extraordinary CBUBers that have taken on the task and who will bring you the story of Champions Battling for Universal Balance!----------------------Simon Williams looked across the table, glaring at his opponent Hal Jordan. His weapon of battle clenched in his hand, he brought it up and swung with astounding speed. The projectile he had sent flying towards Hal could hardly be seen. In spite of that, Hal easily parried it with a quick flick of his own weapon. Shocked by Hal's skill, Simon was unable to knock the projectile back. It fell to the ground and within moments, the sounds of cheering and booing echoed throughout the area.Hal gave Simon a quick smirk, as if to say "Too easy." Simon brimmed with frustration and vowed to not have another slip-up. His next serve at Hal was just as quick as his previous one, but this one had the unmistakable air of ferocity. Hal, still smirking at Simon and basking in his ego, didn't take it seriously. He countered Simon's move with a lazy flick of the wrist. Smiling, he fixed Simon with a look of amusement. Simon merely smirked back and gestured. Hal followed his gesture with a faint curiosity, which quickly turned to surprise. He only just noticed that he missed the projectile. He made a leap for it to desperately hit it back, but to no avail. It fell to the floor, followed by another round of cheers and boos. Hal picked himself up, and gave Simon a look of respect and equality."Not bad, Simon." Hal remarked."It'll teach you to be less cocky, that's for sure." Simon replied with a slight smirk. Hal nodded at that. "You ready?" Hal asked."Whenever you are." Simon replied. This time, Hal was the one to initiate the round. He served quickly but carefully, fully aware of Simon's skill. Likewise, Simon knew Hal well enough by now to tell the feints from the real deal. Back and forth, back and forth, they parried the projectile, neither giving any ground. Neither of them gave the other an advantage. The projectile never hit the ground during this rather long pattern. It only ended when both were too fatigued to carry on.A quick break of a half hour was given. After a swift snack and drink, both Hal and Simon returned to the field of play. Hal gave Simon a look of sadness, with some frustration mixed in. The score was still 1-1."I'm sorry Simon, but for the sake of my universe, my friends, the women I love, I must defeat you in this game." Hal said.Simon nodded and replied "I must do the same, unfortunately."Both of them looked up at the sky, thinking of all the people that were counting on them to win this match. Returning their gazes to each other, each narrowed his eyes. Hal once more started the round. With a quick swing of his paddle, he sent the projectile, a small white ball, towards Simon. Simon readied his next move in preparation.Like it or not, the Ping-Pong game that would determine the fate of a universe began. God help whoever loses this match. ND7
Wait...Nova would it be asgaint the rules, for Jordon to make a hand construct with the ring, and when he gets tired, have it keep hitting the ball back?
C.T.
Wait...Nova would it be against the rules, for Jordon to make a hand construct with the ring, and when he gets tired, have it keep hitting the ball back? Well no, but Jordan would have to sleep eventually. Simon does not.
Guest sirmethos
the match is not going to last long enough for that to be an issue. Simon can move faster, and has faster reflexes, than the human peak. and he can keep moving and reacting at top speed without ever getting tired. ping pong is a game of hand-eye coordination, speed, and reflexes. Simon wins this one fairly easily.
Dark Spider-man
I really enjoyed the setup. Lol. I can see that in the movies.... In world full of evil, two heroes must battle to survive....Marvel vs DC! The battle of Ping-Pog, The fate of the world rests in a white ball." RATED G. Guest ribbonz
Hal Jordan makes a wall construct in the middle of the pong table. Because we all know that the wall always wins. And while Wonder man is destracted, Hal shatters reality with his fist and all is restorded. BTW very funny set-up

Guest Savickh
Ping Pong? Hmmm, this is interesting. Well, Wonderman has remarkable endurance....so I believe he would have the advantage, but Hal the wisest GL of Earth Sector when using the ring. I guess Simon FTW (IF Hal DOES NOT CHEAT)
Guest Odin
Green lantern uses his ring to completely cover his side of the table the ball can never hit his side Hal wins I hate to say it but how the f are we supposed to know who is better at ping pong i mean seriously it makes no sense they never mention it and its just who ever the ppl like more they will find an excuse to vote for them and extra long endurance its ping pong for fs sake not hiking i think hal jordans better than normal endurance can handle a game of ping pong. C.T.
Hal isn't a cheater like that in my opinion though.
Marvel Man
Nice. I like the creativity. I never would have expected a ping pong match. This gets an "It's Good". As for the winner, well, that's difficult. I can't see Hal outlasting a guy who doesn't need sleep, or food, but maybe he can do something else? Meh. I'm voting for Wonder Man. Guest TheJ0ke
Heh, "the Ping-Pong game that would determine the fate of a universe". Best line ever.
DSkillz
Nova, aren't you supposed to be reviewing characters and images? Get back to work!! >:-) lol But seriously, good set-up. Great way of thinking outside the box. I never thought I would be pondering who would win in a game of ping-pong between Hal and Simon. Tough one. Hal's got the diversity and creativity; Simon's got the endurance. Hmmm,… I guess it would mainly depend on the length of the match.
